Suraj Routh (34kg), Rahul Rajak (36kg), Sohaib Haque (40kg, under-13), Sandeep Ram (40kg, under-14), Mohammad Shanin (42kg), Manoj Kumar Prasad (48kg) ensured silver medals after making to the finals of their respective sections. Cheered on by a huge local support, Rajak knocked down Yashwant Singh of Himachal Pradesh 10-0 in 36kg in the ninth bout of the day in what turned out to be a memorable day for the home state boxers. In the 42 kg category, Sikkim`s Ruben Gurung retired to concede the bout 0-3 to Mohmmad Shanin who became the second from Bengal to make the final cut.Routh thrashed S Dillibabu of Tamil Nadu 11-4 in 34 kg, while Haque proved too heavy for Sisir Rai of Sikkim winning 6-0. Sandeep defeated D Srinivasan of Tamil Nadu 4-0, while Manoj Kumar Prasad knocked down Mukta Bahadur Magar of Tripura 3-0 in a successful day for Bengal. PTI
