IOA mourns demise of Ashoke Ghosh
Indian Olympic Association on Thursday mourned the death of its former top official Ashoke Ghosh who breathed his last at wee hours today at his home in Kolkata after a heart attack.

mourned the death of its former top official Ashoke Ghosh who
breathed his last at wee hours today at his home in Kolkata
after a heart attack.
In a condolence message to the bereaved family, IOA
Secretary General Randhir Singh described Ghosh as an able
sports administrator whose contribution to the Olympic
Movement will be remembered.
"We mourn the sad demise of Mr Asoke Ghosh, an able
Sports Administrator whose contribution to the Olympic
Movement will always be remembered, left for his heavenly
abode today," the message said.
"He was former Vice-President and Treasurer of Indian
Olympic Association and was also the President of Bengal
Olympic Association and Kho-Kho Federation of India besides
Secretary of the All India Football Federation.”
"I on my own behalf and on behalf of Indian Olympic
Association pray that may his noble soul rest in peace. At
this hour of grief, we stand with the bereaved family and pray
that may almighty grant them courage to bear the irreparable
loss," Randhir said.
According to family sources, Ghosh had a severe chest
pain at around 2 am and breathed his last before he could be
rushed to hospital.
Ghosh was 78 and is survived by wife, son and daughter.
