Kolkata: Chirag United today warned its coach
and former Indian defender Subrata Bhattacharjee for talking
to press and giving statements without prior permission.
Before their previous match against Mohun Bagan last
week, Subrata created controversy when he said that bigger
clubs were favoured by the referees in the matches.
In a letter, Chirag chairman Kaustav Roy told the former
international player who joined Chirag in the middle of the
last season, not to interact with media and give any statement
without permission.
"In case Subrata continues to talk to the press and give
statements, the club would be forced to take action against
him," the letter said.
It has been learnt that Subrata has been asked to speak
only on technical matters of the club.
Roy asked Subrata not to use the club`s platform in
accusing or passing comments on other clubs or players. The
letter also mentioned that Chirag players lost focus due to
these sort of comments.
The letter also expressed confidence on him and believed
that the club would do well in the coming matches like they
did in the first stage of the I-League.
