Kuldeep National Wu-Shu coach for SAF, Asian Games

Inspector Kuldeep Handoo of Jammu and Kashmir Police has been selected as national Wu-Shu coach for the forthcoming 11th South Asian Federation (SAF) Games and the 10th Asian Games.

Jammu: Inspector Kuldeep Handoo of Jammu and Kashmir Police has been selected as national Wu-Shu coach for the forthcoming 11th South Asian Federation (SAF) Games and the 10th Asian Games.
SAF Games will be held in Dhaka from January 29-February 9, while Asian Games are to be staged at Guangzhou in China from November 12-27. Sports Minister R S Chib congratulated Handoo and said he has been elevated as a senior coach on the basis of his performance in world and Asian Championships.India finished fifth in both the championships. The coaching camp for SAF and Asian Games will be held at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) centre in Bhopal, besides which Handoo would also get two-month exposure training in China. Handoo, as a coach, helped national team to win 19 medals in Asian and World Championships. Five-time international medallist and 11-time national champion, Handoo was also nominated for Dronacharya and Arjuna Awards by the Wu-Shu Federation of India. PTI
