Moga sex scandal
Punjab police unearthed Moga sex scandal in Punjab. The prime accused in the scandal were Baljinder Singh alias Makhan Singh, son of former education minister and senior SAD (B) leader Tota Singh.
The sex scandal involving police officials, local politicians, councillors and influential persons first came to following reports in the media of Moga police extorting money in connivance with call girls.
Dera Ram Rahim case
The Dera Sachha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim was framed in the murder case of a journalist and a disciple of his Dera. Both of whom had allegedly got to know about Baba raping the women working in his Dera.
Dera chief had to also face the charges of hurting sentiments of Sikh community when he appeared in the attire similar to lat Sikh guru Guru Govind Singh thus equating himself to him. The incident outraged to Sikh community and resulted in several clashed between Sikh community and Dera supporters. Dera chief defended himself saying the dress was not similar to the one worn by Guru Gobind Singh and was gifted to him by one of his disciples.
State police also foiled an assassination bid on Baba’s life by Khalistan forces.

Cash at judges’ door scam
A person delivered ‘mistakenly’ 15 lakh cash at the door of Justice Nirmaljit Kaur, a judge in Haryana and Punjab High Court, who happened to be the namesake of the original person whom the delivery was actually meant for.
She registered a complaint to Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court and police thus shocking judiciary as well as the public. The cash was delivered by none other than the cashier of Haryana’s additional advocate general Sandeep Bansal. The police arrested the cashier of Bansal while Bansal said that the money was meant for Nirmal Singh in connection with a land deal.
Later it turned out that the money was meant for Justice Nirmal Yadav of the Punjab and Haryana High Court later recused from judicial work after her name surfaced.
The matter was later gone to the Chief Justice of India who formed a panel of judges to probe the matter. The panel has submitted its report to him. |
