BJP re-elected

The 10th largest state of India created by amalgamation of sixteen Chhattisgarhi-speaking southeastern districts of Madhya Pradesh was high in the news because of elections this year.

Congress got a heavy jolt in Chhattisgarh Assembly polls, when BJP won a comfortable majority by winning 50 seats out of 90. Raman Singh once again took over the Chief Minister seat for the second consecutive term.

Awards

Apart from this, Chhattisgarh got recognition for remarkable work in the field of Information Technology. The state was declared winner in three out of four categories at the yearly CSI-Nihilent e-Governance Awards. Chhattisgarh was selected as the Best e-Governed State, Food Department of the State was selected as Best e-Governed Department & e-Procurement project of the state was selected as best e-governance project in the country.

The tribal dominated state, which, is always in the news for all wrong reasons, and this year it was no different. Home Ministry this month gave a report which said that Naxals are forcibly recruiting children into their ranks and created a special squad of minors.
