Hyderabad, Dec 03: There are reports of police being fired at in Hyderabad’s Old City area.
TV channel reports said Hyderabad police officials were conducting door-to-door searches in Santosh Nagar when a group of four men fired at them.
While all the four managed to flee, one Head Constable sustained injuries to his abdomen. He is, however, reported to be out of danger.
It is believed that the police had some specific information about one Waqar Ahmed, who is suspected to be involved in the Mecca Masjid blast and is absconding at present.
The police are believed to have picked up Waqar earlier also but he was then let off after questioning.
Meanwhile, security has been tightened in the area and a manhunt has been launched for the four men in question.
