Army sends 25 students from J&K on week-long tour to Pune

Jammu, Nov 24: A group of 25 students from Nagrota here has been sent on a week-long motivational tour to defence establishments in Pune under "Operation Sadbhavna," a defence spokesman said on Monday.

The group of students, alongwith two teachers, would visit National Defence Academy (NDA) at Khanakvasla in Pune and other places, the spokesman said adding at the NDA the students would be able to have a first-hand look at the facilities available at this world famous academy.

During the tour, which ends on December one, the students would also witness the enthralling passing out parade of the NDA cadets of the three defence services - Army, Navy and Air Force.

The schedule also includes a visit to army units at Pune, the naval training establishment, INS Sivaji at Lonawala and Air Force Station Pune where they would be shown the sky warriors Sukhoi-305.

The endeavour of the visit is to provide the students a glimpse of the three services and motivate the young minds to serve the country and bring laurels to the motherland in future, the spokesman said.

The tour, sponsored by White Knight Corps, was flagged off by General Officer Commanding (GOC) Crossed Swords Division from Akhnoor.
