CPM, JDP activists clash in Jharkhand; 2 injured

Bankura (WB), Dec 02: In continuing clashes
between supporters of CPI(M) and Jharkhand Disom Party (JDP)
in Bankura, two persons were injured at Taldangra as the JDP
threatened to launch a "bigger protest" from December seven by
blocking roads.
Tension ran high ever since CPI(M) supporters forcibly
removed road blockades at Simlipal, Khatra, Taldangra and some
other places two days back as JDP supporters tried to regroup
and block the road which resulted in sporadic skirmishes
between the two sides.
Two JDP youths were injured during a clash with CPI(M)
supporters at Taldangra Shibdanga last night as they were
going to attend a party rally.
Police said the two, who were taken to Bankura Medical
College Hospital for treatment, had been detained.
Demanding that the duo to be released besides 71 others
arrested earlier, after the November 16 clash with CPI(M)
during the JDP-sponsored Bankura bandh, the JDP leadership
served an ultimatum to the administration.
If the authorities did not listen to their demands by
December seven, a bigger agitation will be launched, a
district JDP leader said.
