Zimbabwe vs India, 1st ODI: Interesting facts

New Delhi: Indian bowlers enjoyed a good outing against Zimbabwe in the first ODI match in Harere on Saturday, with spinners coming to the fore against a clueless batting opponents.

After winning the toss, MS Dhoni put Zimbabwe to bat and soon, Indian bowlers dictated the terms.

Zimbabwe could score just 91 runs in the first 30 overs of their innings. This is the least number of runs conceded in 30 overs by India in the last 10 years.

In the first 10 overs, Zimbabwe faced 46 dot balls and were only able to score only 32 runs in the powerplay.

Indian spinners had a combined economy rate of 2.65 runs per over. This is their ninth best economy rate they have ever recorded in a match in which spinners have bowled more than 20 overs.

However, it was Jasprit Bumrah who rocked the Zimbabwean batting line-up by taking four wickets from his 9.5 overs. The pacer was ably supported by his fellow bowlers, as India bowled out Zimbabwe for a paltry total of 168 runs.
