Maiden win for Italian Constantino Perroni in JK India series

Italy's Constantino Perroni recorded his first win of the season in the JK India Series while Vishnu Prasad stepped on the podium in all three races as the third round of the JK Tyre National Racing Championship concluded, here on Sunday.

Greater Noida: Italy's Constantino Perroni recorded his first win of the season in the JK India Series while Vishnu Prasad stepped on the podium in all three races as the third round of the JK Tyre National Racing Championship concluded, here on Sunday.

Starting from pole, in reverse grid, in Race 2, Perroni led from start to finish and was never troubled by the drivers behind. He was comfortably ahead by three seconds from Ananth Shanmugam, followed by Vishnu, who won Race 1 in the morning.

Between the two India Series races, Vishnu finished third in the LGB Formula 4 category as well, thus taking a trophy in each of the races today at F1 track Buddh International Circuit, where close to 15000 fans turned up to watch the action.

The day also included two races in VW Vento Cup, where Delhi boys Karminder Singh and Anindith Reddy took a win each.

In Race 1 of the JK Racing India Series, featuring the cars powered by BMW Bike engines, Vishnu was soon leading the pack despite starting on the fifth position.

Akhil Rabindra and Ananth Shanmugam who started from the front row faced tough competition from the drivers behind them. Eventually Vishnu won the race while Karthik Tharani and Ananth Shanmugam finished second and third respectively.

Constantino Perroni was given ten seconds penalty for jump start and he finished sixth.

In the Race 2, Constantino after starting from pole faced pressure from Ananth and Krishnaraj Mahadik but managed to stay ahead. Ananth kept his second place intact despite tough competition from Krishnaraj. Vishnu Prasad followed closely and fought hard with Krishnaraj for the third place and eventually in the last lap Vishnu overtook Krishna to take third place.

In the Formula LGB 4, Rohit Khanna from Delhi representing Team Dark Don Racing made sure he made up for his loss of Day 1 as he won the race after starting from the third place on the grid.

Over 30 riders competed in Super Bike Cup which had to be restarted after of an accident. Delhi boy Bhupinder Singh finished first on his Yamaha R1, closing in second place was Simran Jeet again from Delhi on his Kawasaki Ninja ZX10R and Manmeet Singh from Ghaziabad finished third on his BMW S1000.

The fourth and final Round will be held at BIC on November 28-29.
