F1: Force India confirms contender VJM09 launch details

New Delhi: Formula One racing team Sahara Force India has confirmed it will reveal the VJM09, its contender for the 2016 World Championship, on the morning of the first F1 test at the Circuit de Catalunya in Spain on Monday.

Force India’s car launch will take place at 8:30am local time, just half an hour before the green light to start the opening session of winter testing.

The Vijay Mallya owned team had the best-ever F1 season last year with fifth position in the constructors' standings.

The Force Indian team will feature an unchanged driver line-up of Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez.

The team eyes a better run this time and will look to take another step towards the front in 2016.

Reports claim that the launch will take place in the pit lane of Circuit de Catalunya. This is a stark contrast to Force India's tumultuous build up to the 2015 season, with the Mercedes-powered VJM08 not appearing until half-way through the final test.

They were then given a B-spec overhaul nine rounds into the season.
