New Delhi: Trevor James Morgan will be back as East Bengal head coach ahead of the next month’s Federation Cup, the club announced on Wednesday.

This will be Trevor Morgan's second spell in charge.

Morgan will succeed Biswajit Bhattacharya, who had resigned recently after the 1-3 debacle in Bengaluru which dashed their I-League title hopes.

Morgan will not be managing the side in the remaining two games of I-League and will take over as coach in the Federation Cup.

East Bengal will take on Sporting Clube de Goa at Barasat stadium Friday before concluding their I-League campaign in Shillong against Lajong FC April 24 under assistant coaches Debjit Ghosh and Sanjay Majhi.

Earlier, under the Englishman’s stint from 2010-2013, East Bengal had a fruitful season winning the Federation Cup in 2010, the IFA Shield, and the next season they finished I-League runners-up behind Dempo.

Morgan also had some other memorable moments helping the team to their maiden AFC Cup semi-final in 2013.

The experienced coach has been enjoying a stint with Indian Super League franchise Kerala Blasters FC.

Reports say that, he would come on loan from the ISL franchise like he did during his stint at the Goan club.
