New Delhi: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday nominated legendary wicketkeeper Syed Kirmani for the Col CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award for 2015.
Kiri is regarded by many as the greatest stumper in Indian cricket history. In 88 Tests, he completed 160 catches and 38 stumpings, while in 49 ODIs Kirnami has 27 catches and nine stumpings to his credit.
For someone who was bestowed with best wicketkeeper award at the 1983 World Cup, Kirmani's views on wicketkeeping need to be taken seriously.
Speaking to DNA, the World Cup winner expressed his views regarding India's Test wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha who took over from MS Dhoni earlier this year.
"Saha is looking good. He looks a very natural wicketkeeper. But he has a lot of improvement to make in every aspect of wicketkeeping. Every collection will be a learning process for him," he said.
The young Saha is considered as the best in India when it comes to wicketkeeping skills. But he needs more runs under his belt in order to secure his position as India's undisputed number one.
