Not Virat Kohli but Joe Root is the best batsman in cricket: Muhammad Yousuf

New Delhi: Whether we talk about ODIs, T20s or Test cricket, Virat Kohli has been showing his class with the bat consistently. Deservedly, Kohli has been lauded as the best batsman in world at the moment.

The Indian test captain might have impressed many present and former players of the sport but Muhammad Yousuf has a different opinion when it comes to naming the current best batsman.

The former Pakistan skipper has name England's Joe Root as No. 1 batsman, not just in test but in all three formats of cricket ahead of Virat Kohli and AB de Villers.

Joe Root slammed 254 against Pakistan in the 2nd test, while Virat Kohli scored 200 against West Indies.

Yousuf, who himself represented Pakistan in  90 Tests and 288 one-day internationals, also drew similarities between Root, Kohli and de Villiers, stating all of them are equally comfortable playing in any format of the game.
