BCCI annual awards: Syed Kirmani gets Lifetime Achievement Award, Virat Kohli receives Polly Umrigar trophy

The BCCI annual awards for 2015 was held in Mumbai on Tuesday before the Indian team’s departure for the ODI and Twenty20 series in Australia.

New Delhi: Former Indian wicketkeeper Syed Kirmani was awarded with the prestigious Col. CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to Indian cricket in the BCCI awards night on Tuesday.

The 66-year-old former India cricketer and member of the 1983 World Cup-winning squad was presented the award by BCCI president Shashank Manohar.

Indian Test captain Virat Kohli bagged the the Polly Umrigar Trophy for Cricketer of the Year. The Delhi batsman also shared a photograph on Twitter thanking the Indian board.

Thanking the BCCI for the award, Kirmani said, "The only thing in my mind when playing was to do well and keep the tri colour flying. I thank the BCCI for honouring me with the C K Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award."
