On golden jubilee of 1971 win, check India's greatest Test series triumphs

On August 24, 1971, India created history by recording their first-ever Test series win on English soil. The Ajit Wadekar-led side defeated England by four wickets in the third Test at The Oval to clinch the three-match series 1-0. On the 50th anniversary of the 1971 victory, we take a look at India's great Test series wins on foreign soil.

It was the legendary Sunil Gavaskar's debut series where he piled up 774 runs and India won the second Test at Port-of-Spain by seven wickets -- the only result in the five-match series.
