Pakistan have been part of international cricket since playing their first Test against in October 1952. But in the 69 years since then, only a handful of non-Muslim cricketers have represented Pakistan at the international level. Danish Kaneria was Pakistan’s second Hindu cricketer after his cousin Anil Dalpat. Kaneria played in 61 Tests and took 261 wickets, which is the highest by any Pakistani spinner. More than what the likes of Abdul Qadir, Saqlain Mushtaq and Mushtaq Ahmed could garner. (Source: Twitter)
Mohammad Yousuf
Mohammad Yousuf, who was Christian and known as Yousuf Youhana, changed his religion and name later in his career. Yousuf went on to represent Pakistan in 90 Tests. (Source: Twitter)
Anil Dalpat
Anil Dalpat was the first Hindu cricketer to play for Pakistan. He averaged a poor 15.18 in nine Tests and scored only one half-century. (Source: Twitter)
Wallis Mathias
Wallis Mathias was the first non-Muslim to play for Pakistan back in the 1950s. He played 21 Tests and scored 783 runs at an average nearing 24. (Source: Twitter)
Sohail Fazal
