Wenger defends Arsenal’s Nasri sale to Man City

Nasri, who had one year remaining on his deal, has been allowed to join City for a fee of 24 million pounds.

London: Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has defended the club’s decision to sell winger Samir Nasri to Manchester City on the eve of the Champions League clash against Udinese.
Nasri, who had one year remaining on his deal, has been allowed to join City for a fee of 24 million pounds. Wenger said that the decision to sell the 24-year-old was not based on one match. “You cannot think about only one game in the season, and there was some logic in the decision and also some business interest,” Wenger said in an interview.“Overall, you want players who are not playing thinking that they are leaving the next morning – it’s not ideal. So, you want players who are completely committed to the long term to defend our chances,” he added.ANI
