Rome: Former world record-holder Asafa Powell will challenge triple Olympic champion Usain Bolt at the Rome Golden Gala meet in May, organisers announced on Wednesday.
The current world and Olympic champion and world record-holder over 100m and 200m, Bolt had already agreed to race at the May 26 meet but the addition of his great domestic rival Powell is another major coup. The meet already promises to be a spectacular affair, with Kenya`s 800m world record-holder David Rudisha and world champions Sanya Richards (400m) and Allyson Felix (200m) also set to take part. Bolt and Powell will do battle over 100m, while Americain pair Richards and Felix have been lined up in a double-duel over 200m and 400m. Bureau Report
