Sania Mirza to sport Sahara logo

New Delhi: Diversified business group, Sahara India today announced an association with Sania Mirza under which the tennis player will sport the company`s logo during upcoming tournaments. The company refused to disclose the nature of its association with the tennis player and details such as the financials involved or the tenure of the association. "Sania Mirza has registered her comeback with rising successes from Commonwealth to Asian Games and to the recent success at Dubai," Sahara India, Director (Corporate Communications) Abhijit Sarkar said in a statement. While Sania has recently won 13th Al Habtoor Tennis Challenge at Dubai, Sahara has been known to sponsor sports events and players. At one point of time in her career, Sania was one of the most sought after sports personalities in the India`s celebrity endorsement market charging as as much as Rs 1-2 crore per endorsement. Her equity, however, fell following drop in her performance and also to her marriage to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik.The company has been associated with sportsmen including Gagan Narang, Abhinav Bindra, Vijender Singh, Kapil Dev, Sourav Ganguly, Zaheer Khan, Rajyavardhan Rathore, Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, Leander Peas and Rahul Dravid.
