Dixit, Tandon enter semis of junior national squash c`ship

Ravi Dixit and Ramit Tandon on wednesday entered the semifinals of Boys Under-19 category while Rishi Tandon caused a ousting Vivek Dinodia of Kolkata in Boys U-17 in the sub-junior and junior national squash championship.

Asian Junior Champion Dixit will take on Akshay Deepak in the first semifinal while Tandon will be up against Abhishek Pradhan in the other last-four stage encounter on Thursday . In the Girls U-19 section, Maharashtra`s Namrata Purohit (5-8 seed) scalped Delhi`s Diya Kumar (3-4 seed) 3-11 11-7 11-4 11-7 in the quarterfinal but she will have to make a herculean effort tomorrow to advance further as she is pitted against top seed and a WISPA star, Anaka Alankamony in the semifinals on Thursday . In the other last-four clash, Ankita Sharma (seed 2-Maha) plays Dheeya Somaiya (3-4 MP). In the Boys Under-11 quarterfinal this morning, Rishi Tandon disposed off higher ranked Vivek Dinodia from Kolkata 11-9 8-11 7-11 14-12, 11-5 in an hour-long contest.
