Chirag United and East Bengal win in CFL

Kolkata: Chirag United and East Bengal registered victories over their respective opponents in the Calcutta Football League (Premier Division) matches at Yuba Bharati Krirangan. In the first match of the day, Chirag United had to struggle hard before Mohammad Rafiq provided the winner in the 78th minute through an Elija Junior pass to help his team beat BNR.Chirag thus have six points from two matches. In their CFL opener, Chirag had beaten Railway FC 2-0. East Bengal missed chances galore before Orji Penn fired twice to give them a 2-0 win over West Bengal Police.The Nigerian medio opened his account in the 78th and 10 minute later he completed the tally to give East Bengal their second successive win. Having thrashed Mohammadan AC 5-0 in their opener, East Bengal also have six points. PTI
