Young Everest climber felicitated

Noida: District Magistrate Deepak Aggarwal presented a cheque of Rs 2 lakh to 16-year-old Arjun Bajpayee, who had scaled the Mt Everest, at the Independence Day function held at the Collectorate here. Omkar Bhatti, Assistant Information Director Gautam Budha Nagar, claimed that Arjun was the youngest person to climb the Everest. “The award will serve as motivation not only for Arjun but other youngsters to achieve such feat. The amount of Rs 2 lakh was sanctioned by State Government on Chief Minister Mayawati’s directions,” Bhatti said.Aggarwal also felicitated freedom fighter Rumal Singh.PTI
