Ushanath Banerjee was today elected West Bengal Badminton Association (WBBA) chief for a second term in its annual general meeting here.

Kolkata: Ushanath Banerjee was today elected
West Bengal Badminton Association (WBBA) chief for a second
term in its annual general meeting here.
The WBBA had 17 members out of 20 in attendance and
unanimously elected the office bearers and members of the
council to hold office for four years, WBBA stated in a
release.
The WBBA after a stay order from Calcutta High Court held
AGMs for 2007-08 and 2008-09 in the presence of Bengal Olympic
Association (BOA)-appointed neutral observer Debashis
Banerjere.
The two AGMs were originally scheduled for July 25 but
could not be held after an order from Registrar of Firms,
Societies and Non-Trading Corporations, claiming that the
federation violated its guidelines.
Subsequently, the high court stayed an order by Registrar
of Firms, Societies and Non-Trading Corporations enabling the
WBBA to hold their AGMs.
