Cheating case against two Assam sports officials

A case of cheating was registered on Wednesday against two sports officials of Assam who allegedly impersonated as members of Hockey Meghalaya and were to vote in Thursday`s Hockey India elections, police said.

impersonated as members of Hockey Meghalaya and were to vote in Thursday`s Hockey India elections, police said. Investigations have started against Raj Kakoti, treasurer of Assam Olympic Association, and Sumita Sinha, after the Meghalaya Olympic Association (MOA) lodged a complaint against them. The MOA alleged that the two represented the state without any authorisation. "The duo do not belong to any association or federation under the Meghalaya Olympic Association or sports department in Meghalaya," an MOA statement. PTI
