Kashyap wins, Guru and Aditi lose in Chinese Taipei Open

World number 25, Kashyap defeated Lu 21-16, 14-21, 21-14 in a 43-minute hard-fought battle in the men`s singles category. Kashyap will next take on second seed Sony Dwi Kuncoro of Indonesia in the second round tomorrow. Gurusaidutt, however, was not so lucky as his gallant fight ended in a 20-22, 19-21 defeat against Yun Lung Chan of Hong Kong after a 33-minute contest. In the women`s singles, India`s lone contender Mutatkar had a tough opposition in Seung Hee Bae of Korea, who tamed the Pune-girl 17-21, 19-21 in a match that last 42 minutes. PTI
