‘Chak De’ Negi to coach women’s hockey team?

New Delhi: After an alleged sex scandal led to the ouster of women’s hockey team coach MK Kaushik, news has it that former India hockey player and goalkeeper Mir Ranjan Negi will taker over the job.
Kaushik, on Wednesday, resigned as the coach after allegations of sexual harassment were leveled against him by a member of the women’s hockey team.Kaushik stepped down after saying that the allegations were a conspiracy against him and vowed to clear his name. “I would not like to coach a team where such false allegations are made,” he had said.Negi had earlier worked under Kaushik as the goalkeeping coach of the women’s hockey team. Negi shot to fame after the 2007 Shah Rukh Khan starrer flick Chak De India was claimed to have been based on his life. The film was based on the winning of the Gold medal by the Indian women`s hockey team at the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
