Kolkata: Following a disappointing 2-2 draw at home in a Kolkata League match against relegation battlers Railway FC, Mohun Bagan Coach Satyajit Chatterje offered his resignation to quit from the post while speaking to the press media after the match.
The club has already accepted the resignation letter sent in by Chatterjee, and has decided to hold an emergency committee meeting tomorrow to decide on the future course of action.
Mohun Bagan started off well under the former MB star, after pulling off a spectacular 5-1 victory against Chirag United. But things did not improve after that as the team went into a slump of sorts, and suffered two back to back home defeats in the I-League.
Stunned by the poor performances, MB General Secretary Mr. Anjan Mitra had already given a verbal show cause to the players for their lack of commitment.
In fact, at the meeting held for the regrouping the team, the top officials of Bagan apparently threatened the players that they will find it difficult to get a club in near future.
It remains to be seen who is next in line at Bagan, who are now in a bit of a pickle, with much left to be played for in the league.
