Gujarat in connection with the alleged fake encounter of
Ramnarayan Gupta, a suspected aide of gangster Chhota Rajan,
police said.
"We have arrested one Sunil Solanki from Godhra in
Gujarat for his role in the killing of Ramnarayan Gupta,"
Deputy Commissioner of Police K Prasanna said.
Solanki was brought to the city today and produced before
a local court, which remanded him to police custody till March

However, Prasanna refused to elaborate on the role of the
accused in the fake encounter.
With this the total number of arrests in the case has
increased to 10.
Earlier, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the
case had arrested senior inspector Pradeep Suryavanshi,
encounter specialist Pradeep Sharma and seven others for their
alleged involvement in the encounter.
Ramnarayan alias Lakhan Bhaiyya was shot dead allegedly
in an encounter by a police team headed by Suryavanshi on
November 11, 2006 at suburban Versova.
Ramnarayan's advocate brother Ramprasad had approached
the Bombay High Court, claiming his brother was murdered
in a staged encounter, following which the SIT was formed.
