India to send 16-member team for Asian Grand Prix Archery

India will send 16 archers to the first Asian Grand Prix to be held at Kuala Lumpur from February 7 to 12, Secretary General of Indian Archery Association (IAA) Paresh Mukherjee said.

Kolkata: India will send 16 archers to the first Asian Grand Prix to be held at Kuala Lumpur from
February 7 to 12, Secretary General of Indian Archery Association (IAA) Paresh Mukherjee said here today. Since the best of the Indian archers would be busy camping in SAF Games to be held in Dhaka almost concurrently, the IAA decided to send the second best team to Kuala Lumpur, Mukherjee said. The team will leave for Kuala Lumpur on the night of February 4. The squad: Recurve: Men: Thupuvoyi Swuro (Nagaland), Kapil (Chandigarh), Pawan Xalxo and Atanu Das (both Steel Plant). Women: Chekrovolu Swuro (Nagaland), Laxmi Rani Majhi, V. Pranitha (both Steel Plant) and Sushma (Railways). Compound: Men: C. Srither (Services), Palton Hansda (Railways), Jayantilal Ninoma (Rajasthan) and Ritul Chatterjee Women: Jhano Hansdah, Bheigyabati Chanu (both Jharkhand), S. Jayalakshmi (Maharashtra) and Gagandeep Bawa (Punjab). Coaches: Limba Ram (Head), Dharmendra Tiwary, Lalrem Sanga, Richpal Singh, D. Saiswary. PTI
