New Delhi: In a new twist to the story of snubbing of Pakistan players in IPL auction, the government of Pakistan is considering a ban on showing Indian television channels in the country, after the cable operators had decided to ban on the telecast of IPL matches there. The issue, which is seen purely as a business policy keeping in mind the volatile political relations between the two countries, has already sparked a furore in Pakistan. Most of the MPs belonging to the opposition parties in the National Assembly on Friday accused the government of not taking the matter seriously. It was learnt that Pakistan could also impose a ban on showing Indian films which is a major source of revenue for India. The Pakistan Cricket Board has also decided that they would file a complaint with the ICC after its players were ignored during the IPL auction earlier this week. Among the other fallouts, demands are being raised in the country to withdraw the Pakistan hockey team from participating in the forthcoming Hockey World Cup in India.
