Kolkata: The West Bengal government has decided to create 3,224 new posts in different departments, Finance Minister Asim Dasgupta said here today.

The new posts would be created in the departments of public health engineering, health, home and transport among others, he said after a cabinet meeting.

Besides, vacancies in 150 existing posts would be filled up soon, he said.

The government has also decided to set up 'Trauma Centres' at various levels.

While works for the purpose are on in the state-run R G Kar Medical College Hospital here, such facility would come up in the SSKM hospital too, he said.

Such centres would also come up in other districts.
