Rashid puts Delhi ahead in Inter-State golf

The Delhi `A` team comprising young Rashid Khan and experienced Gagan Verma took the lead in the team event of the LG West Bengal Inter-State Championship at the par-72 Royal Calcutta Golf Club here on Tuesday.

Kolkata: The Delhi `A` team comprising young Rashid Khan and experienced Gagan Verma took the lead in the
team event of the LG West Bengal Inter-State Championship at the par-72 Royal Calcutta Golf Club here on Tuesday. The 18-year-old Rashid shot a one-under 71 to take the lead in the individual standings along with Moin Malak and Siddharth Semwal while Gagan was placed fourth after a round of level-par 72, along with Rahul Bajaj and Saurabh Bahuguna. Delhi `A` took the lead with a total of one-under 143. Jasjeet Singh and Rahul Bajaj carded rounds of 73 and 72 respectively to help Uttar Pradesh `A` take the second place with a total of one-over 145. Delhi `B` comprising of Karan Vasudeva and Pawan Kumar and the team of HS Kang and Abhijit Chadha representing Punjab `A` were tied for the third place at five-over 149. Played for the first time on the LG Indian Amateur Tour, each team comprises of two players and the team with the lowest combined aggregate over four days, will be crowned champions. PTI
