Another milestone: Sachin on mount 30K

Living legend Sachin Tendulkar became the 1st cricketer to complete 30000 runs in international cricket.

Ahmedabad: Milestones just don’t seem to stop coming where Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar is concerned. Barely had the dust settled on the euphoria which engulfed him when he completed 17000 runs in ODIs two weeks ago, the Mumbai Maestro gave another reason of celebration to his huge legions of fans when he completed two decades of top flight international cricket. Now, in his first match in his 21st year as an international cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar made it an occasion to remember as he became first ever cricketer to complete 30000 runs on the world stage. Needing 34 runs to reach 30000 runs before this innings, Tendulkar achieved this milestone on the fifth day of the first Test at Ahmedabad against Sri Lanka when he clipped Welegedara to deep square leg for an easy singleTendulkar, with 17178 ODI runs and 12 822* Test runs, also has 87 international centuries (42 in Tests and 45 in ODIs) to his name, which again is the highest for any cricketer.
