Brazil refuse to heed Roma plea over Doni, Juan

Brazil will not heed AS Roma`s request for injured pair Doni and Juan to be released from the squad for the friendlies against England and Oman.

Sao Paulo: Brazil will not heed AS Roma`s request for injured pair Doni and Juan to be released from the squad for the friendlies against England and Oman.
"No players have been released. The friendlies are on FIFA dates and the two players will report as normal," Brazil`s chief communications officer Rodrigo Paiva told reporters on Monday.Goalkeeper Doni and defender Juan missed Roma`s 1-1 draw with Inter Milan on Sunday through injury but will report to Brazil coach Dunga for the two games in the Middle East against England on Saturday and Oman three days later. Paiva said Doni (thigh) and Juan (calf) would be checked by Brazil`s medical staff if they complained of injuries. Roma`s sporting human resources manager Gianpaolo Montali had earlier been quoted as saying by La Gazzetta dello Sport that Doni and Juan would stay in Italy to have treatment as Brazil were only playing friendlies and "the regulations allow it".Dunga has, however, lost Benfica midfielder Ramires who injured his thigh playing against Everton in the Europa League last week. Fabio Simplicio of Palermo has been called up to replace Ramires. Bureau Report
