Shimla: Himachal Pradesh authorities on Saturday began a probe a bus accident that killed 35 people in Kangra district.

Kangra's Additional District Magistrate started the inquiry into the Friday accident. The report will be submitted in a month, Superintendent of Police Atul Kumar Fulzele said.

The bus was coming to Dehra from Nagrota Suriyan in Kangra when it fell into the gorge near Haripur Guler bridge, 250 km from Shimla.

Fulzele said initial investigations revealed that the bus was overcrowded and the accident occurred due to rash and negligent driving.

As many as 70 passengers were travelling in the 32-seater bus. Almost half of them were perched on the roof of the bus.
