New Delhi: With the arrest of a man in Bihar, Delhi Police today claimed to have solved a case of rape of a minor girl in the national capital.

Police said 28-year-old Sanjit Kumar Sahaney had fled from Delhi after allegedly raping the eight-year-old girl in Azadpur area of the national capital on the night of October 19.

After preliminary investigations, a Delhi police team was sent to Samastipur area of Bihar from where the accused was arrested.

Police said Sahney is a close neighbour of the girl's family in the same village in Bihar and was temporarily staying with them in Delhi.

The Delhi police team managed to nab the accused after his uncle informed them about his whereabouts. Earlier, the team conducted raids at the residence of one of Sahaney's relatives in Silchar in Assam.
