Delhi rape accused arrested from Bihar

New Delhi: With the arrest of a man in Bihar,
Delhi Police today claimed to have solved a case of rape of a
minor girl in the national capital.
Police said 28-year-old Sanjit Kumar Sahaney had fled
from Delhi after allegedly raping the eight-year-old girl in
Azadpur area of the national capital on the night of October
19.
After preliminary investigations, a Delhi police team was
sent to Samastipur area of Bihar from where the accused was
arrested.
Police said Sahney is a close neighbour of the girl's
family in the same village in Bihar and was temporarily
staying with them in Delhi.

The Delhi police team managed to nab the accused after
his uncle informed them about his whereabouts. Earlier, the
team conducted raids at the residence of one of Sahaney's
relatives in Silchar in Assam.
