Ahmedabad blast accused brought from MP for questioning

Ahmedabad: Two SIMI activists, wanted in
connection with last year's serial blasts case here, were
today brought from Indore for interrogation, police said.
"We have today brought two persons Younus Umar and
Mahhamad Shafiq who were part of the group which hatched
conspiracy to carry out serial bomb blasts in the city," a
senior police officer of Ahmedabad police said.
The crime branch officials would interrogate the accused
to find out the exact role they had played in the conspiracy,
the officer said, adding that both the accused were associated
with outlawed SIMI (Students Islamic Movement of India).
Last year, over 50 people had died in the serial blasts
in the city.
