New Delhi: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa on Thursday expressed confidence that the political crisis in the state will be resolved within a day or two.

Not wanting to disclose the details of the solution that’s been worked out, he only said that the crisis is all but solved and the final announcement would be made by party leadership.

Yeddyurappa, who is in Delhi, told reporters: "In the interest of the state, I am ready to discuss (the issues) with anybody and solve the problem. Whatever decision the national leadership is going to take, that is going to be the final decision,"

Expressing hope, he added, “99 percent, all issues will be resolved today.”

When asked about the “compromise formula” being worked out he said, “Nobody has come with a formula. We will sit together and discuss the issue. The national leaders will take a final call on the issue.”

Yeddyurappa also expressed his readiness to discuss all outstanding issues with the rebel Reddy brothers, who are demanding a leadership change in the state.

"I am trying my level best to meet the Reddy brothers (Tourism Minister Janardhana Reddy and Revenue Minister Karunakara Reddy) today," he said, hoping that the crisis will be resolved in a day or two.

On a question whether he would step down from his chair, the mild-mannered CM, said, "The national leaders have already cleared that the question does not arise. They have accepted that I will be the future leader also. The only thing is that we have to sit together, discuss and solve the problem. Maybe there are some differences of opinion."

The Chief Minister will also be meeting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to discuss flood relief issue in the state.

Yeddyurappa reached the capital last evening and held meetings with Speaker Jagadish Shettar, who has been the chief ministerial candidate of the rebel camp, in a bid to find a solution to the crisis. The meeting was mediated by party general secretary Ananth Kumar.

The Reddy brothers have been demanding his resignation. They have problems with the Chief Minister's 'autocratic' style of functioning, increasing clout of Rural Development Minister Shoba Karandlaje and other issues related to their mining business.

Neither Yedurappa nor Reddy brothers disclosed why the fracus started and both are claiming for the sake of good government. It mekes every body to think wheather the people of karnataka voted for BJP to see the quarrel between the two factions at the crucial time without attending the flood relief works. Affcted People are longing for food and shelter and their representatives are longing for their power. In the penultimate decade karnataka chose oopsition national parties for the state governments. It makes to think have they choose a wrong party for the state this time. -S.Ravi - Chennai a
