Chinglensana moves into semifinals of Archery event

Hanoi(Vietnam): Indian archer Maisnam Chinglensana Luwang moved into the semifinals of the men's compound individual event in the 3rd Asian Indoor Games here today .

Luwang will lock horns with Reza Zamaninejad of Iran at the Haiphong Youth Gymnasium tomorrow.

Luwang defeated Chakrit Thongwattana of Thailand 117-114 in the quarterfinals.

In other quarterfinals, Abhishek Verma lost to Mansour Kordi of Iran in the tie-breaker after tying the score 113-113. Kordi had 9, 9, 10 in the three tie-breaking shots, while Verma had 9, 9, 9.

Gurucharan Besra lost to Korean Kyeong Su Kim 113-116 in the men's recurve individual event. Earlier, he had defeated compatriot Rajib Basumatary in the pre-quarterfinals 116-113.

The lone women recurve archer Punya Prabha Kumari fell prey to Sejin An of Korea 112-115 in the quarterfinals.

Sakro Besra and Vrushali Gorle too were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the women's compound event. Vrushali lost to Nguyen Tien Anh Tran of Vietnam 113-114, while Sakro was out played by Mahtab Parsamehr of Iran 108-117.
