Queen's Baton Relay reaches British Midlands

Birmingham: The Queen's Baton relay today
reached here in presence of members of Commonwealth Business
Club India (CBCI).
At a reception organised by CBCI, Birmingham City Council
Leader Mike Whitby said they are committed to fostering trade
ties with India through Commonwealth Games next year in New
Delhi.
"The CBCI launch underpins the strong economic
relationship between Birmingham and India. We are keen to
further establish our strong business links through the
Games," he said.
CBCI Chairman and Organising Committee CWG 2010 Chairman
Suresh Kalmadi in a message said the Queen's Baton Relay 2010
would help showcase the immense opportunities India offers to
Commonwealth's business community.
"It has been our endeavour to create a networking
environment for business leaders of the Commonwealth. We want
to develop greater awareness of India's multifaceted tourist
attractions and investment opportunities," Kalmadi said.
CBCI and FICCI have planned Business-to-Business and
Government-to-Business interactions in 13 cities of the
Commonwealth during the Baton Relay.
The schedule covers Glasgow (November 30), Larnaca in
Cyprus (December 4), Toronto (April 14), Montreal (April 16),
Melbourne (April 20) and in Gold Coast (April 21), Auckland,
New Zealand (May 17), Singapore (June 7) and Kuala Lumpur
(June 12).
