Davanagere (KTK): It was a different march of sorts to raise 'donations' by Congress activists here.

This 'fund' raising drive was not for the flood-battered, but for dissidents in ruling BJP in Karnataka, camping at Hyderabad and Goa, seeking removal of Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa.

As the activists of youth Congress went through the city's main thoroughfares, donors made offerings like bottles of whisky, brandy, beer, live chicken and even cash.

"Some legislators instead of toiling for flood-hit people are enjoying in resorts at Hyderabad and Goa for political power. So we decided to contribute to the legislators' expenses at resorts. Hence we are collecting funds," K G Shivakumar, a city municipality councillor, said.

About 60 legislators supporting Reddy brothers-- Tourism Minister G Janardhana Reddy and Revenue Minister G Karunakara Reddy-- and their associate Health Minister B Sreeramulu, who are spearheading the oust-Yeddyurappa campaign, are camping at Hyderabad and Goa.

They alleged the political crisis has hit the flood relief measures in the state, parts of which were ravaged by unprecedented rains few weeks ago.
