Balrampur (UP): The district administration has sought the help of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) to check smuggling of chemical fertilisers along Indo-Nepal border.

District magistrate, Kanchan Verma, said assistance of SSB has been sought for effectively checking smuggling.

The DM said following state government's directive to stop smuggling of fertilisers to Nepal through the porus border, the administration has already suspended the licences of fertiliser sellers in the ten km area near the border.

In a meeting of officials of bordering districts of both the countries, the Nepali authorities have also assured all cooperation in checking smuggling, the DM said.
