Srinagar: Ahead of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's two-day visit to the Kashmir valley later this week, J-K Congress chief Saifuddin Soz said on Monday several confidence building measures were in the pipeline to resolve various issues in state.

"Several confidence building measures are in the pipeline and initiatives will be taken by the central government in normal course," he said at a two-day seminar on 'Post elections challenges in J and K' organised here by Delhi-based Institute of Peace Research and Action.

"Personally speaking, CBMs that come up in the wake of impending dialogue will have a greater impact and significance", Soz said. But he did not elaborate.

"Decisive" dialogue is the only way to sort out issues in the valley Soz said adding, "people of Kashmir have rejected violence as an instrument of settling problems."

The centre has said it would initiate a dialogue with all shades of political opinion in Jammu and Kashmir to formulate contours of a solution.

"We will hold dialogue with every shade of political opinion in J and K to find a solution in a civilised way.

The dialogue will not be in full media glare. It will be a quiet dialogue. It will be through quiet diplomacy," Union Home Minister P Chidambaram said here on October 14.
