Thousands of residents witnessed annual India-Pakistan wrestling championship held during the nine-day `Navratri` festival in Katra.

Katra: Thousands of residents witnessed annual India-Pakistan wrestling championship held during the nine-day `Navratri` festival in Katra.
About seven members from Pakistan are in India to participate in the championship. Residents feel that by such events people in India get a chance to meet the people from Pakistan and understanding between them also enhances. "This definitely helps in boosting tourism. But through these games and through festivals people are able to come here and meet us. This way, our knowledge about them also broadens and we start understanding each other well," said Om Prakash, a resident. Wrestlers from Pakistan were also jubilant as they were able to celebrate both Eid and Navratri together in India. "We are feeling happy after receiving the affection of the people here. We are able to share happiness of citizens of both the countries when they met each other here," said Abdul Najeeb, team leader of Pakistan`s wrestling team. Wrestling in India is a traditional sport. It was once considered a royal sport. ANI
