2010 Commonwealth Games completely secured: Maken

New Delhi: Minister of State for Home Ajay Maken said on Wednesday that there is no insecurity over the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. He reiterated that the state would take every possible step to ensure that the prestigious event goes without any untoward incident. Maken said that the security for the CWG have been designed in such a way that no terror outfit can affect the proceedings of the game.In a statement to media, Maken said that the Games have been secured from ‘above the ground, below the ground and on the ground’.Maken’s reaction came soon after Indian Olympic Association President Suresh Kalmadi made a resolute visit to the Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh’s office to assure him that the preparations for the forthcoming mega-event were on track despite some concerns over the event. Kalmadi, also the chairman of the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee, said the Prime Minister promised all support for the successful conduct of the event, scheduled in October next year.
