Chennai: Defending champion Gaurav Dalal of Red Rooster kept his chances alive for the championship title in Formula Rolon category with a power packed performance in the fourth round of the JK Tyre National Road Racing championship here today.Dalal made good use of the absence of Ashwin Sundar, (who leads the points table) here due to his international racing commitments. Delhis Karthik Shankar of Team NK Speed Racing finished second and independent racer Saran Vikram came third.
Bangalores Akhil Devarag of Team Rams Racing scored his maiden win in the endurance race after a close contest with Sudanand Rajan of Wallace Sports. Akhil sealed the win by completing 22 laps in 45:06:312 minutes. Sudanand was second timing 46:01:554 min, while Chennai lad M.Mohit, also of Rams racing, came third in 46:18:573 minutes.
In Formula LGB Swift category, Bangalores Sudarshana Rao from Team TVS Girling consolidated his championship lead by finishing first. Ajay Kini (Chennai- Wallace Sports) was second while team mate Prithveen Rajan came third.
The Super Saloon category saw the duo from Red Racing - veteran Chennai racer Radha Selvarajan and Sailesh Bolisetti from Vizag capturing first and second spots with ease.
Another veteran from Coimbatore and Team Prime Racing, B Vijayakumar, finished third.
