Bhopal, July 06: One more witness today refused to
identify underworld don Abu Salem during the trial in a fake
passport case in a lower court here.
Though three persons - Javed, Siraj and Khallelullah Khan
- were to be examined, only the last witness turned up at the
Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Mohan Prakash Tiwari's court.
Khan, a notary advocate, refused to identify Salem saying
he does not know who had come to his office for attesting the
papers necessary for acquiring passport as the case was "too
old".
With this, eight witnesses have so far refused to
identify Salem in the case.
The charges in the fake passport case were framed against
Salem in the CJM's court on June 16 under Section 466 and 471
of the IPC and under relevant sections of Passport Act.
Film actress Monica Bedi, an alleged companion of Salem
had already been acquitted in the fake passport case by a
sessions court here.
The next hearing of the case will take place on July 30.
