Chennai, July 04: Union Petroleum Minister Murli Deora on Saturday said he will be "happy" if the Ambani brothers, locked in a legal battle over gas supply, come together.
Deora told reporters on the sidelines of a function
here that the case over the supply of gas by Mukesh Ambani-run
Reliance Industries to RNRL was subjudice and therefore he
cannot comment on it.
"However, I will be happy if they come together," Deora
said without elaborating.
Earlier Deora declined comment on the Ambani brothers
moving the Supreme Court.

"I must study and then reply," Deora had said.
A day after RNRL filed a petition in the Supreme Court,
Mukesh Ambani-run RIL also moved court challenging the
Bombay High Court ruling asking it to supply gas to the
former at a price 44 per cent lower than what has been fixed
by the government.
Reliance Industries Ltd in its appeal today contended
that the High Court had erred in deciding the three terms --
quantity, tenure and price of gas supply -- to power plants of
RNRL affiliates.

The Minister declined to comment on whether the
government would pitch in to work out a compromise formula
between the brothers.
